Week 5 was a busy one, and we are getting close to the end of the regular season and beginning of the sectional playoffs!
For week 5 we had 8 girls recognized by the Times Union for Best of the Week (Addi Perry, Ella McDonald, Gianna Cirilla, Kennedy Ring, Lily Farrell, Micaela Tahoe, Quincy Hytko, Simone Cassano). Additionally, the Times Union named Addi Perry as the Athlete of the Week for the prior week and highlight Chatham's strong start to the season with Addi and Coach Shawn Willis from Chatham featured, and Bella Thomas from Maple Hill as well. Columbia and Shen's Saturday matchup was highlighted by the Times Union with Ella McDonald from Shen and Anna Nassivera and Kennedy Ring from Columbia featured. Another Alleycat was represented in the Times Union in a different sport, with Leonni Griffin from Shaker and her cross country accolades following the Grout Invitational featured. Finally, the Times Union published an article on Claire Hutton's college commitment to UNC, historical accomplishments, and recent play with the Bethlehem boys varsity team.
