Girls Can Play Football Too!

LEGACY… We strive with the Alleycats girls program to help girls become young women… to be independent, confident, caring, creative, courageous, resourceful, and resilient. We see sports as a vehicle that goes beyond the field to help young people build the character necessary to thrive as adults. We also hope that in that mission our older players leave a legacy to encourage our younger players to grow. We are overjoyed to see not 1, not 2, but 3 of our players have the confidence to participate in the other version of football, and not let gender be a barrier. Thank you Keelyn P for paving the way at Stillwater, Abby D picking up the mantle last year at Ichabod Crane, and now Abby B strapping up for Tamarac. We’re proud of you all and wish you all the best, and thanks for showing the Lil Cats out there that there are no barriers to what a confident young woman can do!

Another one kicking under the Friday night lights, Ella M (05) has been representing for the Bolton Central School football team this fall. She is also the leading goal scorer for the girls soccer team and this past year was a member of the Alleycats Leadership Committee (ALC). Prior to moving further up north, Ella was also a mainstay helping coach with our youth academy girls. We’re very proud of you Ella and keep up the good work!
