A busy weekend for our older girls traveling to New Jersey to play in the EDP Cup Fall Showcase and the PDA Invitational, a quick recap of the action as the club went 9-5-3 on the weekend! Our 04 White, 06 White, and 07 White teams traveled to the EDP Cup Fall Showcase, with each team playing three games across the weekend and collectively went 5-2-2. With over 100 college coaches in attendance at the event, the 04 White team went 1-0-2 and a strong defensive effort led them to be one of two U18/19 teams in the event to not concede a goal all weekend (tied Bordentown and Jersey Shore Boca on Saturday, won vs. Towamencin on Sunday). The 06 White team started the weekend off losing a high scoring game 4-2 vs. Franklin Elite, but rallied to win both of their games Sunday by 2-1 scorelines (Freehold Storm and Keystone Black). Finally, the 07 White team finished tied atop their bracket with a 2-0-1 record, winning 2-0 vs. Deptford Premier, 4-1 vs. North Burlington, and losing 0-2 vs. Jersey Shore Boca. Our 04 Red, 05 Red, 06 Red, and 07 Red teams were selected to participate in the PDA Invitational Showcase, with each team playing two games across the weekend and collectively went 4-3-1. 100 college coaches attended the event, including 40+ division 1 programs. It was a tale of two days for the girls at the event, Day 1 saw the girls go 1-2-1 on the day, with the 04 Red tying 1-1 vs. SUSA, 05 Red winning 4-2 vs. PDA, 06 Red losing 0-2 vs. PDA, and the 07 Red losing 0-4 vs. PDA. Day 2 had better results in store for the girls, going 3-0-1 on the day with the 07 Red winning 5-2 vs. LI Slammers, 06 Red and 05 Red both winning 2-1 vs. Penn Fusion, and 04 Red losing 1-3 vs. Manhattan SC. Good start to the season ladies and look forward to seeing some highlights once game film finishes uploading from the weekend!
